Inaugural Post

Holy shit. Where am I?

Oh, it's a brand new blog.

                                        Huh.

How odd. What should I write about?

*sips beer, deep in thought*

I mean, I gotta put something here.

*....another sip*

I suppose I could write about that time at work when I stuck my fist in...

......oh, this? Yeah, it's Dogfish Head's Palo Santo Marron.

It's actually really good. And at 12% ABV, it packs a punch.

When I poured it, I was coming out of a brief Belgian kick. I was cradled in the sweet, sticky maltiness and fruity flavor complexity that gives Abbey trips and quads their appeal. I've been going through beer phases, I've noticed. First it was IPAs, and then oatmeal stouts, and then imperial stouts, and now it's Belgian Abbey-style ales. I love the fruity este--
                                    --wait, what was I saying?

Oh, right. The Dogfish head one.. I poured it coming out of a Belgian kick, and it was a pretty great transition. This thing has a huge malty presence, running a bitter roller coaster of light-roast coffee and dark chocolate over the palate. The alcoholic bite is nigh undetectable--in fact it's deceptively warming and enchanting. It's complexity necessitates sipping and nosing, so the wine glass was a good choice.

Huh. I think I found something to fill this website with. I'll post brief reviews and ramblings about beers I try. I don't really expect anyone to read it, but I guess I like to imagine addressing the general public.

Whatever. I need another beer...
